The concept arose when the classically trained musicians of dulce VAS came together with the desire to play the music of their personal passion—well known Pop and Jazz standards—with something much more than harp, flute, bass, and percussion. It has been said the music of dulce VAS could best be described by combining a little Sting, Lady Gaga and Santana—followed by shot of tequila (with a lime, of course). One might even say dulce VAS is Sonoran Jazz. Specializing in creating new arrangements out of old and new popular tunes, dulce Vas is a twisted yet refreshing musical alternative to the typical band.
Who is dulce VAS? dulce VAS is made up of harp, flute, bass, and percussion. Yes, a harp! But this is an electric harp, one unlike any other in the Western Hemisphere. Together, the band works in coordination with a professional DJ who brings an additional live-techno flavor to the already exciting elixir. The members of dulce VAS are award winning, classically trained soloists with an extensive history of playing alongside and recording with top music artists such as Kenny G, The Temptations, Gypsy Kings, Deborah Henson-Conant, Marc Antoine, Euge Groove, Scott Cussu, Eric Darius, Nestor Torres, Christopher Caliendo, Johnny Rawls, and more.
